Blue Hope Diamond

The Blue Hope Diamond is one of the rarest and most expensive diamonds in the world. It is exceptional in its size and blue color.
The deep, resulting from the presence of the chemical element boron, emits a phosphorescent red light when exposed to ultraviolet radiation.
Diamonds containing the element boron constitute 0.1% of all natural diamonds.
The diamond is valued at tens of millions of dollars and attracts a lot of attention. It is the most awarded art exhibit.

Its weight when mined was 112 carats, today after being polished several times, its weight stands at 45.52.

It weighed 67.12 carats and was set in a tie pin worn by the king at royal ceremonies.
In 1749, his successor, Louis XV, ordered the court jeweler to set the diamond in a magnificent piece of jewelry – a fleece ornament.
The gold. The decoration incorporated 83 red diamonds, 112 yellow diamonds and a 107-carat spinel.
